Homework

I have just started going to Sunday School for the first time since probably 9th grade, maybe older. The name just feels like something you only did when you were little. Despite my negative feelings of having to get up earlier on a Sunday, and be a participant with people I don't know well, its been good. Getting more personal time with our pastor, being able to have something new to talk about with my husband, and being challenged. I need to be challenge, and I let my self, my sin, my defiant behavior get in the way of becoming a better or stronger me. So we had homework. Not just a little either. Crazy homework. We had to write our stories. Your life, your relationship with Jesus. Then, write your own confession and assurance. Choose a hymn to go along with it all... to reflect me and my belief in God. I'm not done yet with it all, but its been surprisingly good to have to write it. I hate cliche christian stuff... and scoff at being a part of it... but my Lord comforts me and offers me hope on a daily basis. So it isn't about anyone else. Maybe I'll share my homework with you...
